Dementia Action Week

This Dementia Action Week (16-22 September) we’re encouraging everyone to take the first step to learn more about dementia and how you can help shape our communities for the better. Learn more from Dementia Australia.

We are hosting a couple special events to mark Dementia Action Week:

Thursday Movie Screening: Everybody’s Oma

Thursday 5 September, 1pm, Sebastopol Library

Ahead of the week, we will be hosting a screening of the film Everybody’s Oma (2022), a heartwarming and raw documentary about filmmaker Jason van Genderen and his mother as together they navigate life with dementia. This film is sure to have you laughing, smiling, and crying at different times throughout.

Memory Matters

Thursday 19 September, 10.30am, Ballarat Library

Are you worried about your own or someone else’s memory? Learn about the normal changes to memory as we age and when to seek medical advice.

Find out about local dementia support, enjoy morning tea and explore puzzles and games available at the library.
