Central Highlands Libraries was formed in 2011 to provide a shared library services model for the region. Central Highlands Libraries and the City of Ballarat support library services for the following Councils: Ararat Rural City Council, Central Goldfields Shire Council, Hepburn Shire Council,
Moorabool Shire Council, Northern Grampians Shire Council, Pyrenees Shire Council and Southern Grampians Shire Council.
Central Highlands Libraries consist of 17 static libraries and outreach services. The services cover over 20,000 square kilometres and a population of approximately 230,000.
Branch libraries are located at Ararat, Avoca, Bacchus Marsh, Ballan, Ballarat, Beaufort, Clunes, Creswick, Daylesford, Dunolly, Hamilton, Lake Bolac, Maryborough, Sebastopol, St Arnaud, Stawell, Trentham and Wendouree.
Your Ballarat Libraries membership can be used to borrow or access services at any Central Highlands Libraries branch.
Libraries Victoria consists of 31 library services and over 200 library branches and outlets across the state.
Your Ballarat Libraries membership lets you borrow and return at any participating Libraries Victoria library and request items from a combined catalogue of over 3,000,000 items.
