Ballarat Library hosted the 2025 launch event for Bulldogs Read on Monday 17 February.
160 excited children from this year’s participating primary schools (Bungaree, Buninyong, Caledonian, Delacombe, Magpie, Miners Rest, Mt Pleasant and Yuille Park) attended the library for an official welcome and launch. They were welcomed by Deputy Mayor Councillor Ben Taylor and were able to meet current players Bailey Dale and James O’Donnell.
Bulldog’s Read is now in it’s 10th year. This program is offered to children in Ballarat, in partnership between Ballarat Libraries and the Western Bulldogs. It supports literacy development, health, and wellbeing. The children enjoy library visits, experience AFL matches (a first, for many of them) and meet current Western Bulldogs players. It is the only program of its kind in Victoria.
