Between Hope and Fear: The Girls of Afghanistan

Between Hope and Fear: The Girls of Afghanistan is an exhibition of photography by Muzafar Ali, world-renowned photographer and social activist.

The narrative in this exhibition starts with the two pictures on the left, depicting girls looking wistfully toward the girls framed in the centre picture, joyfully making their way home from school in better times, before the Taliban rule. The images on the right feature bright and engaging girls, as one might see in times of greater freedom.

This exhibition is presented by Ballarat Afghan Action Group (BAAG) in partnership with Ballarat Regional Multicultural Council (BRMC), Ballarat Refugee and Asylum Seeker Support Network (BRASSN), Rural Australians for Refugees (RAR) and Ballarat Libraries.

The exhibition is currently on show at Ballarat Library.
